From Pathway to Prospect: The Next Step Starts in San Diego

With our four summer events now in the books—Albuquerque, Omaha, Utah, and Colorado—the grind of the summer circuit is complete. But the season isn't over. It's just about to peak.

The lights now shift to San Diego State University's Tony Gwynn Stadium, where the 2025 Pathway Prospect Games kick off August 6. This is where everything we've built comes together—the right players, in the right environment, in front of the right college coaches.

This isn't about chasing hype. This is about putting guys on the field who belong—and giving them a real shot to be seen.

Earned, Not Handed
All 132 players at this year's Prospect Games were nominated and selected from six 2024 Pathway events:
Albuquerque, Omaha, Utah, Colorado, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.

Over 300 teams and thousands of players competed across those stops. Through college coach nominations, Pathway scout evaluations, and club coach referrals, we built six rosters with players who've shown tools, upside, and makeup.

And we don't wait until the last minute to select guys. We do it early—on purpose. We know that events like this are a commitment. So we give players and families time to plan, to prepare, and to do it the right way. This isn't just about showing up. It's about showing up ready.

The Schedule: All Baseball, All Business

AUGUST 5
Players report to San Diego and check in at the Courtyard by Marriott for the Opening Night Prospect Social. It's the first team meeting. Players receive their custom uniforms, meet their teammates and coaches, and get locked in.

AUGUST 6
Teams hit the field at San Diego State for a full college-style practice day with their college coaching staffs. After practice, it's time for Media Day—professional headshots, on-camera interviews, and all the extras that make this event feel like the next level.

That night, it's game on: Opening Ceremonies and the Home Run Derby under the lights at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

AUGUST 7–10
Then the games begin. Four straight days. One location.
Each player will compete in front of 50+ college coaches from across the country—JUCO, NAIA, DIII, DII, and DI programs. Every game is on campus. Every coach sees every team. Every rep matters.

We See What Others Miss
Sure—we notice the big kids. The ones who throw hard. The ones who drive the ball with authority.
That's easy. But what separates Pathway is our ability to find the guys other people overlook.

We see the middle infielder with twitch, the outfielder who takes perfect routes, the pitcher with feel for three pitches, the catcher who commands the game quietly but completely.

We don't build this event for the Power Five commits. They've got a path.
We build it for the players who are still on the climb.

At Pathway, our focus is simple:
    •    Find the right players for the right schools,
    •    Put the right schools in front of the right players,
    •    And let the game take care of the rest.

A Word from Pathway Baseball Director, Gino Grasso:
"The vision for this event started back in 2018 when I went to the Area Code Games and saw some of the top 2% players in the country. It was an incredible experience—but it also sparked something," said Grasso.

"I wanted to build something for the other 98%. The kids who don't get the call to Area Codes. The players who are talented, hungry, and deserving—but sometimes overlooked,"

"And yes, we have guys who are doing both. But this event was built for everyone else. The ones who need a platform. The ones who just need the right eyes on them. That's what the Pathway Prospect Games are all about."

Capturing the Story
We're also proud to have one of the best in the business behind the lens. Matt Smith, from HeyCameraGuy in Utah, will be on site to capture the emotion, intensity, and moments that define this event. If you've been to our other events, you've probably seen his work. He doesn't just take pictures—he tells stories. And he'll be there all week to document the Prospect Games like no one else can.

Partners Who Get It
We're grateful to work with partners who elevate the Prospect Games experience:
    •    Decker Sports — Official uniform provider, delivering pro-grade custom gear to every player.
    •    Yardley Sports — Supplying all MVP gloves awarded throughout the event.
    •    Diamond Krew Apparel — Providing custom sunglasses for each Prospect Games participant.

They help us create an event that looks, feels, and plays like college baseball should.

The Next Step Starts August 6
Over 100 players from the 2024 Prospect Games signed to play college baseball, and those commitments happened at every level of the game. That's not by accident. That's by design. This event is built to create real opportunities—for players who are ready, and coaches who know how to spot them.

The 2025 Pathway Prospect Games run August 6–10 at San Diego State University.

One stadium. One mission. The right players. The right stage. Let's go.
