Hear from Coaches on their Pathway Experiences

Michelle Lemus
AZ FCA
"We honestly can't thank Pathway enough for the Colorado Springs tournament. That was the beginning of his whirlwind recruiting. He ended up turning down 15 colleges. Ian played on 3 teams and had tournaments all over and this was by far the best tournament with college coaches in attendance that wanted to engage with players."

David Graham
West Texas Thunder
"I have attended many tournaments over the years, with organizations claiming that college coaches will be present. I have yet to see any at our games. Others claim that college coaches are part of their Twitter followers, and your players will get exposure from those tweets. Pathway Baseball was the first organization that hosted a tournament in which our players met college coaches. The coaches attended and watched many of our games. They worked with the players directly during the showcase day and visited with our coaches and parents about players.
They also provided guidance on what avenues give our players the best opportunity to be seen. The tournament was well organized and held at 1 complex large enough to host all games. This structure reduces driving time for players, families and college coaches. The structure of the Pathway tournaments increases the probability that your
players will be seen by college coaches.
I highly recommend attending these tournaments and will attend again in the future with my teams. In fact, some of our players received calls from coaches inquiring about their plans for playing in college. If you want your players to be seen in person, this is the best option for that to happen in my experience."

"Great people make great organizations and Pathway Baseball is a perfect example of that. The Pathway people are kind, approachable, and knowledgeable.
They work hard to provide the best venues, best umpires, and best experiences. They're commitment to the athletes is above and beyond."

"Our high school teams travel; we do a lot of showcases and I've been to just about every one out there. The first event we played at was Pathway Albuquerque, and it was the best experience I've had. You are doing it for the right reasons. I watched those college coaches run an all-day pro-style workout and never heard one coach complain.
Gino (Grasso) absolutely handles the details and understand that the little things matter. I couldn't have been more satisfied. I told him we are all in, wherever you guys go. Nice fields, lot of coaches there, games run properly, banners looked good, and college coaches on board with giving advice to the players. Anything that was needed, Gino was on top of it."

Owner, MAC Elite Baseball
"Pathway is bar none the best event we've ever attended, and we've been to all of them. The way Gino goes about things and the whole group associated with Pathway … the communication about who will be there, what to expect. We've never been disappointed; it's under-promised and over-delivered. We've never left a Pathway event wanting more or questioning anything that was done. One of the things I love is we get an idea of the coaches who are going to be (scouting) there, and those coaches are there. And it's not like a rumor that they were there, or someone saw them in passing – we talked to them ourselves, and saw them at our games.
I also love the transparency. At the (2019 UNC Fall Classic), Gino said the coaches will be watching the 2020 and 2019 guys, so the 2021 teams will play a tournament format. I loved that honesty. We have parents all the time asking us at other events, why aren't scouts watching my kids? Well, your kid is 15 … and there's a bunch of 18-year-olds here. Gino calls it as it is. And, it's a great market because not every team has 15 guys who can play for a Power 5 team. But there's a ton of guys who can play at a D-II or good JUCO or D-III; he's even contacted players of mine now and helping them get recruited. He's doing it for the best interest of the kids, which is what this all should be about anyway."

Derek Hines
Owner, Premier West Baseball
"We like the events because he tells you how it is. He's not going to tell you there will be 500 guys and no one shows up, like some of these tournaments we go to. He's very transparent, and he loves the game, which is important for the position he has. He's dedicated to baseball and to getting the kids seen. We've really enjoyed all the events; the facilities have been nice, he's been great and the competition has been great, too."

Owner, Salt Lake Gulls Baseball
"Gino (program director Gino Grasso) is organized, very transparent, and you know what you're going to get. We travel all our guys together, we fly and (get) hotels together, and you can imagine that if you have 90 guys on the road with 12 coaches, it needs to be well organized. Gino has made it simple; we know when we're playing, we know the fields well in advance, and that allows us to put together a solid plan for those 90 guys. In addition, he's done a great job on social media and how he presents the Pathway product. We've been going to tournaments for 10 years, and I can say this is a quality product. We go to some tournaments and we'll be on awful fields, or we don't get the schedule until four days before we get there, or they say they'll have 20 college coaches there and it's just one or two. We're pretty selective, we want the kids in the right environment, and Gino and Triple Crown have been very clear.
The reality is we'll have a couple D-I players, a lot of JUCO guys, so it's important for us to go to the right places. To see a bunch of high-end programs, we don't have those guys. It's beneficial for us to get in a tournament where we know the D-I guys will get a look, then also our D-II guys and everyone else – we want to fill all those gaps. All levels of guys get exposure, and it's not even getting a scholarship on that day. You get in front of a coach, shake his hand, introduce yourself, build those social skills for the future."

Owner, Colorado Rogue Baseball
"Pathway Baseball's event in Albuquerque was a first class experience both for our team as a whole and for our players as individuals. The attention to detail from Gino and his staff was evident from the moment we showed up, and Albuquerque's new complex was a perfect venue for players from all over our region to display their skills to college coaches in both the individual workout and game settings. The opportunity to play each game against high level competition in front of multiple college coaches was exactly what we were looking for when scheduling tournaments for our summer. I would highly recommend Pathway Baseball and their events!"

Steve Appel
Head Coach/AD, University of the Southwest
?"I believe Pathway Baseball is doing things right. Not only do they put quality teams in front of us college coaches to watch, but they are giving the kids the best experience in a great baseball venue. With all the extra benefits the kids receive besides playing in games, it gives them the chance to really stand out in front of numerous college coaches. The University of the Southwest will definitely be back in the future and I expect it will be even better!"

Owner, NoCo Roughnecks
"We went to Phoenix and played in the Pathway's first fall exposure tournament, and (Pathway director) Gino (Grasso) and Triple Crown delivered. There were 25 or 30 colleges, tons of coaches, and the right coaches, the right fit. Our guys were talking to right schools.
I'll be honest – we've been all over the country, and you go to tournaments where they promise there will be college coaches there, and you might see one guy. We were frustrated. I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't a bit nervous about going to Phoenix … Gino delivered, and we were on board with Albuquerque as soon as it popped up, and he delivered again. If there were seven weekends, I'd play in seven (Pathway) events."

Phil Price
Owner, Evolution Baseball
"(Director) Gino (Grasso) has been awesome. Our first year, summer 2017, we came to Richmond and got our first taste of it. The organization is really good, and you had the sense Gino knew all the teams and all the coaches. We wanted to make sure it was part of our schedules every year moving forward. The communication is great, social media is solid. Gino has highlighted players who committed (for college), both at your event and at other events.
That type of personal touch is really important and part of the service that will separate Pathway from other organizations. The extra steps in service level … Gino is very involved. Hopefully you keep growing and we grow along with you guys."
