2025 Pathway Utah- Day 2 Recap

Pool Play brings a day filled with action, as teams begin to separate themselves

Utah County, UT- Day two of the Pathway Utah tournament brought a full slate of action across the Salt Lake Valley and Ogden, with teams beginning to separate themselves in pool play. From early morning matchups to late-afternoon battles, storylines are starting to form — and a few clubs are making strong statements.

At Alta High School, Brand Athletics opened the day with a convincing 9–1 win over Trosky Utah 2028 Columbia, showcasing timely hitting and solid defense. Over at Jordan High, the Thunderhawks picked up where they left off on day one, pouring on runs in a 10–4 win over UBA to stay perfect in Pool C. Meanwhile, RA 2026 White cruised to a 9–2 win over Herriman, making their mark in a competitive Upperclass Pool D.

Thunder Baseball was one of the day's early shutout stories, blanking Albuquerque Yankees 10–0 at Westlake High School, while the Colorado Saints exploded offensively, outlasting CBA Stockton White 12–4 in a high-scoring affair at Skyridge. Several teams showed dominant two-way play early, but none more than BlueChip–Barela, who posted a decisive 10–4 win over Fort Macleod Royals to open Pool F play.

As the day progressed into the mid-morning slate, tightly contested matchups became the theme. Avalanche edged BlueChip 16U–Gray 7–5 in a back-and-forth battle at Alta. Idaho Prime made a statement of their own with back-to-back victories: a 10–1 rout of Herriman 16U and a 4–0 shutout against the Utah Ducks. On another field, RA 2028 White held off a late push from RC Premier Caston, escaping with a 9–8 win in what was one of the day's most thrilling finishes.

Other notable efforts came from Sticks 16U, who bounced back with a 7–2 win over Boise Baseball Academy, and Slammers Schuster 2027's, who held on for a 7–5 victory against the Sanpete Storm Chasers in a scrappy Pool H contest.

In the afternoon matchups, Avalanche continued its momentum with a 10–8 win over TEAM Analytics 2026, winning a seesaw game that came down to the final inning. RA 2027 Black turned heads by taking down Thunder Baseball 7–1, while CBA Summit South Corner continued its consistent tournament with a 5–2 victory over Trosky Utah 2028 Navy. GamePrep Baseball Academy 2027 turned in one of the most complete performances of the day, cruising to a 10–0 shutout over Rawlings Tigers Quatro. Not to be outdone, CBA STAMPEDE put together a strong two-win day, defeating Gojo Baseball Club 17U twice by identical 6–2 scores.

Late games featured more high-scoring fireworks. Suga Suga – Brande impressed in their 3:15 p.m. matchup, using a potent offense to defeat Idaho Prime 11–3 in Underclass Pool D/H. Elite Baseball National – 2028 edged Gulls Baseball Club 4–3, while GBG Saint George claimed another one-run victory, this time a 5–4 win over Utah Tribe Baseball 2026, confirming their ability to win tight contests.

Over in Ogden, the 15u division kicked off its tournament slate and is shaping up to be just as competitive. Both Horns 15u and Coal Creek Hustle opened pool play 2–0. Horns played clean, consistent baseball, allowing just six total runs across their first two games, while Coal Creek put up 13 runs and finished the day with the best run differential in the division at +10.

Kalispell Sluggers 15u delivered a strong first impression with a 7–0 win, playing sharp on both sides of the ball. Offenses were in full gear for Marucci Recruits and Mavericks Baseball Club, both of whom posted 7-run performances in their opening wins. TEAM Analytics 2029 and Knights – Gold each split their two games, but did so with loud bats — putting up 14 and 18 runs respectively, keeping themselves in the hunt for bracket contention.

Elsewhere, GBG Utah 2028 Navy, RC Premier Hocking, and Trosky Utah 2029 White each notched wins in competitive matchups, adding to the parity in the 15u field. As pool play continues in Ogden today, bracket positioning will be on the line. The teams that throw strikes and manage their pitching depth will begin to rise to the top.

"This event and it's teams playing just continues to impress both college coaches and the Pathway Baseball staff," said Event Director Gino Grasso. "We are looking forward to seeing how these squads perform in what is sure to be an exciting weekend of bracket play."

Across both regions, dominant pitching and opportunistic offense were themes on Day 2. Shutouts became more common, and teams like Idaho Prime, Avalanche, and CBA STAMPEDE are setting the tone with consistent, all-around performances. As pool play begins to wind down, expect the intensity to rise as squads fight for favorable bracket placement and a shot at championship weekend.
