Tyrus Barclay

Ty Barclay is entering his first year as a NCAA coach in the 2021-22 season. He will be
overseeing the Marauder’s catchers, base running, while assisting Coach Platt with the offense.
Ty has had previous coaching stints with the Great Lake Canadians organization, and most
recently the Sylvan Lake Gulls of the WCBL collegiate summer league in an assistant coach
role as well.

Fresh off his playing career, Barclay spent time at 3 schools. Garden City Community College
(KS), where he spent 2 years under Chris Finnegan, and earned all conference honors both
years as the Broncbusters starting catcher. Upon graduating from there, Ty transferred to
Emporia State University (KS) with head coach Seth Wheeler. There he was awarded the “Best
Teammate Award” and voted team captain his senior year. Following COVID-19, Barclay set out
to finish his career at UMary under Coach Spencer, helping the team achieve a playoff spot
immediately upon arriving.

Barclay calls Wyoming, ON, Canada home. He is the son of Angela and Kirk, as well as the
sister to Alexis.

He holds a bachelors in communication, and is currently finishing up his Masters in Business
Administration from UMary.
