Luis Reyes

Luis Reyes joined TAMIU baseball as an assistant coach in November 2020. Reyes brings with him nearly a decade of coaching experience.

Reyes joins TAMIU after three seasons at fellow NCAA Division II school Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he served as the hitting and infield coach as well as the director of player development. At NWOSU, his teams improved their batting average in each of the last three seasons, and ranked nationally in multiple offensive categories over the last two seasons. With the Rangers, Reyes coached the 2019 Great American Conference Player of the Year, three All-GAC players, one GAC All-Defensive Team player, one GAC Gold Glove winner and one Central Region Player of the Week.

Prior to his time at NWOSU, Reyes spent time as an assistant coach at Murray State College. At MSC, he helped guide the team to a No. 1 national ranking and an appearance in the NJCAA World Series in 2017. He also helped 22 players move on to NCAA Division I schools and 26 to Division II. He also coached five All-Americans and two Gold Glove winners.

Reyes also spent time as the head coach at Marietta High School in Marietta, Okla. He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at Clarke University. He also has multiple years of experience coaching collegiate summer league teams and club teams.

Reyes earned his bachelor's degree from Clarke University, and holds a master's degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
