Utah Valley head baseball coach Eddie Smith has announced the addition of Kade Kryzsko to his staff as a volunteer assistant. The 2022 season will mark Kryzsko's first at UVU and he will serve as the program's first base coach. Kryzsko will wear jersey number 33 for the 2022 season.
“Kade is going to bring great perspective to our program with some unique experiences. It was a great pleasure to coach Kade Kryzsko in his first two years of playing college baseball where his work ethic and killer instinct earned him junior college All-American honors,” Smith said. “He then transferred to Indiana University where he was coached by 2021 National Championship winner, Coach Chris Lemonis, before finishing his career playing professionally in Europe. These experiences will be great for our program and his work ethic will be respected immediately by our players.”
Kryzsko comes to UVU after spending two seasons playing professionally overseas in Germany. From 2018-20, Kryzsko pitched and also served as an assistant coach for the Berlin Flamingos. During the same time, he also served as a personal instructor for D-Bat from 2018-21 in the state of Washington.
Kryzsko previously played for Smith at Lower Columbia College and excelled on the diamond as he earned All-American honors as a pitcher and infielder. He then went on to finish his collegiate playing career at Indiana University of the Big Ten Conference from 2016-18. At Indiana, Kryzsko took home the Hoosier Award in 2017 after achieving excellence on and off the field.
Kryzsko hails from Covington, Wash., where he won a state championship at Kentwood High School and earned All-Star honors. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 2018 in liberal studies (with a minor in sociology).
