Coach Ed Trujillo is an Arizona native whose love of baseball began as a small child in Ajo. He graduated from Trevor G. Browne High School where he played 3 years of varsity baseball, followed by 2 years here at GCC for Coach David Grant and at Westmont College in Santa Barbara where he set many college records that still stand today. He started his coaching career at Santa Barbara City College while still attending Westmont. Coach Trujillo graduated from Westmont College with a BA degree in Busniess and Economics and returned to coach at GCC in 1988. Coach Trujillo has been at Glendale Community College for the last 35 years.

Coach Trujillo is begining his 7th season as the Head Baseball Coach and he has placed 47 players to the next college or universities and since 1988, GCC has had 184 players move on to the next level. Also, in  the past 3 seasons GCC has had 5 players drafted by MLB, and since 1988, GCC has had 23 players drafted by MLB teams.

In the past five seasons, GCC has qualified for the ACCAC Region 1 playoffs...2018 Overall Record 32-27 ACCAC (23-17) 2nd Place in D2 standings...2019 Overall Record 24-34 ACCAC (17-21) 4th Place in D2 standings...2020 COVID-19 season cancelled...2021 Overall Record 25-27, ACCAC (19-19) 2nd Place in D2 standings, Region 1 Finals...2022 Overall Record 26-30-1 ACCAC (16-22) 4th Place in D2 standings...2023 Overall Record 33-30 ACCAC (15-23) 4th Place in D2 standings, ACCAC D2 Conference Champions, 2023 NJCAA World Series

In the past five seasons, GCC has been recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association for Academic Excellence for the academic year. Starting in 2018, GCC team GPA has been 3.2, 3.26, 3.28, 3.09, and 3.16.  Also, in the past three years, the GCC Baseball program has had 19 NJCAA Academic All-Americans and one Rawlings Gold Glove winner. In 2021, GCC had one NJCAA 1st team All-American. In 2023, GCC Baseball was recognized as an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.

In 2023, Coach Trujillo was named the ABCA NJCAA DII Regional Coach of the Year. Also, in 2023 Coach Trujillo was named the NJCAA West District Coach of the Year.
