The 2025 Season marks Daniel Silva’s second as the UCCS Baseball pitching coach. He returned to UCCS after spending three years pitching professionally in the Pioneer League (MLB Partner League) with the Idaho Falls Chukars.
Before embarking on his professional career Silva spent five years with the UCCS Baseball program, including three seasons of playing. Silva’s final appearance in RMAC play was a four inning save to clinch the 2021 RMAC Tournament Championship game, which remains the lone RMAC tournament championship in program history. Silva remains the UCCS Baseball program leader in Strikeouts (241), Wins (22), ERA (4.88), Appearances (63), Starts (48), Shutouts (2), and Innings Pitched (320.2) and is tied with Jonathan Cowles for the most Complete Games with seven.

2020: Started all four of his appearances … Finished with a 1-0 record and a 2.77 ERA (tied for eighth in RMAC) … Allowed 10 runs (eight earned, tied for fifth in RMAC) off 23 hits in 26 innings on the mound … Racked up 26 strikeouts, 11 of which were strikeouts looking (tied for third in RMAC) … Held opposing batters to a .237 batting average … Recorded a season high nine strikeouts against Cal Poly Pomona on Feb. 7 … Earned his win in a complete game effort against Colorado Christian on Mar. 6, going nine full innings and allowing three runs (two earned) off six hits with five strikeouts.
2019: All-RMAC Second Team ... 3.80 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 7 wins, 3 losses, 15 appearances, 14 games started, 87.2 innings played (most on team by 13.2) ... Recorded 11 shutouts vs. Regis University, 6 shutouts vs. CSU-Pueblo and Dixie State, 5 shutouts vs. Colorado Mesa and MSU Denver
