Witzke brings a versatile skill set to the table having experience as both an outfielder and pitcher in his time playing college baseball. Prior to his time at Iowa Lakes Witzke earned a bachelor's degree in the Applied Studies of Business from Harding University. While at Harding Witzke served as both an outfielder and pitcher, breaking school and conference records with a 28-game hitting streak and helping the bison to their 7th 30-win season in school history. In his first season as a coach, Witzke served as an assistant coach to the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs in the expedition league with his team going on to a 33-2 record while winning the league championship. Â
