After playing four seasons at California Baptist University, Andrew Brasington joined the Lancers as an assistant coach to Gary Adcock in 2012 after serving as a graduate assistant in 2009-10.
In nine seasons with Adcock, the Lancers have combined to go 310-146, winning one Western Athletic Conference title, three Pacific West Conference titles, two National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series titles and qualified for the NCAA Division II postseason in each of its first five years.
Brasington spent the 2011 season as the top assistant coach at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, Calif. In his lone season at COD, he coached the Foothill Conference Pitcher of the Year in Javier Martinez. COD finished fifth in the Foothill Conference.
In his four seasons on the field, Brasington appeared in 132 total games, all in reserve. He served primarily as a defensive replacement during the course of his career and had 12 career at-bats, getting six hits, including a two-RBI triple as a 2006 sophomore.
However, Brasington made his mark as one of the best base-runners during his tenure. He scored 67 career runs and had 14 stolen bases while serving as the Lancers’ primary pinch- and courtesy-runner for the catcher. As a 2008 senior, Brasington played in 40 games, scoring 30 runs and went 7-for-8 on stolen base attempts, all career bests. He was also 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter.
Brasington earned a pair of Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. He also earned a pair of GSAC Scholar-Athlete honors.
Brasington prepped at Elsinore (Calif.) High, graduating in 2004. In his lone season, he earned All-Sunbelt League honors after hitting .357 with 15 stolen bases. He also played one year of varsity basketball.
Brasington graduated in May 2008 with a bachelor’s in kinesiology, and he finished his master's in education in 2010. He married former CBU women’s soccer standout Brittany (Shea) in June 2009. The Brasingtons had their first child Keegan in January 2013, their second child Taylor in March 2015, third child Hayden in November 2016 and fourth child Winnie in September 2019.
