What is your walk-up song?
"MY EYES" by Travis ScottĀ
What are your most notable strengths as a player?
I have a strong arm across the diamond and from the outfield. I track fly balls well. When hitting, I use every part of the field, maintaining an even spray from left to right. I specialize in getting on base but also led my team in extra-base hits for the last two years. My level swing produces hard backspin line drives, resulting in lots of singles and doubles, along with triples and occasional home runs.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
Hitting a walk-off three-run home run.
Who is your favorite MLB player?
Aaron Judge
How do you prepare mentally before a game?
I remind myself that I play this game for fun, and if I make a mistake, itās just thatāa mistake. I know Iāll always have a chance to make up for it.
What is your approach to training and conditioning?
I strive to be the strongest and fastest on my team, so I compete against my teammates in the weight room and during conditioning.
How do you handle setbacks and failures on the field?
I see them as learning opportunities. I analyze what went wrong so I can improve in practice. I also remind myself that even MLB players make mistakesāno one is perfectly error-free.
How do you stay motivated throughout a long season?
I remind myself how lucky I am to play baseball, even through a tough, long season, because many kids donāt have the same opportunities.
What leadership qualities do you bring to the team?
I am positive, reassuring, and easy to approach. I enjoy giving my teammates tips that will help them the next time they step on the field.
What are your hobbies outside of baseball?
I enjoy golf, soccer, video games, and photography.
What are your educational goals?
I would like to attend college and have an interest in various engineering fields.
What is your favorite thing about playing baseball?
I love the feeling of getting a base hit or making a great play. Every at-bat is another chance to hit the ball hard, and every time I step on the field, I have the opportunity to make an amazing play.
What advice would you give to a young player aspiring to play at your level?
Get as many reps as possible. Mass reps will quickly set you apart from others. It can be as simple as throwing a baseball against a wall and fielding it or taking live at-bats with friends or siblings. The key is to recreate in-game situations.
Most importantly, make it fun. If you enjoy practicing, youāll do it more than everyone else. Remember, perfection is impossibleāyou can always improve. Practice doesnāt make perfect, but it does guarantee progress. Donāt settle; aim to get a little better every day.
Also, enjoy the moment. Donāt stress about how your performance affects your future. Just embrace the game and the memories you create.
What are your college aspirations regarding baseball?
I want to play and be involved with a team at any level. I know it will be a challenge, especially with my intended majors, but I see it as a great opportunity to develop valuable life skills while playing the game I love. Iāve always dreamed of playing at the next level, and I do everything I can to make that dream a reality.
