I read The Mental Game of Baseball and go over my favorite chapters to get focused.
What is your approach to training and conditioning?
I hit and lift every day with specific intentions for each session, depending on what I’m trying to focus on.
How do you handle setbacks and failures on the field?
I reflect on why I struggled, figure out how to improve, and then target that area in practice.
How do you stay motivated throughout a long season?
I remind myself of my goals and who I want to become, keeping the bigger picture in mind.
What leadership qualities do you bring to the team?
Responsibility, vocal leadership, confidence, and being a team player.
What are your hobbies outside of baseball?
I love to golf in my free time.
What are your educational goals?
I want to go through pre-med, medical school, dental school, and eventually residency in orthodontics.
What is your favorite thing about playing baseball?
Being out there with my teammates every day, playing the game I love, and putting in the hard work.
What advice would you give to a young player aspiring to play at your level?
Being physically skilled is one thing, but the best players are those who have the strongest mental game.
What are your college aspirations regarding baseball?
To play for the highest-level competition school that will take a chance on me.
